Liberal, Kansas – November 26, 2014 – The Liberal Leader & Times reports that a total of $110,000 is being donated to programs at Seward County Community College to support educational initiatives in the Oil & Gas industry. The nonprofit group Petroleum Industry Education Inc. (PIE) is composed of long-time industry experts whose goal is to advance the education and training of young people who seek careers in the oil and gas industry of the future.
The photo shows PIE representatives presenting $10,000 to the SCCC/ATS Foundation for student scholarships. The nonprofit also donated $50,000 in matching funds for the Title V Endowment Challenge Grant. In addition, PIE will provide $10,000 per year for five years to fund travel and living expenses for students completing summer internships in the petroleum industry.
